Barbell Club is Olympic weightlifting training where we direct our attention to mastering the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. We do this by building general strength and power, the most important factor in weightlifting. We will do direct skill and strength transfer exercises in the form of pulls, presses and squats. We will break down the movements into segments in order to develop proficiency in the movement as a whole. The sport of weightlifting has the greatest display of both strength and power but also develops flexibility.
Whether you are looking to improve your technical skills for CrossFit, enter your first weightlifting meet, or primarily focus on weightlifting, Barbell Club is for you. Classes run 3x's per week with periodized programming specifically for the demographic. Individual programming may be assigned as needed. Athletes will be able to make up missed days of programming during regular gym hours.
